Off-season swaps make big impact on NBA

This off-season was filled with surprises.  Shaquielle O'Neal gets traded from the Los Angles Lakers to the Miami Heat.  Miami sends over Brian Grant, Caron Butler, and Olympian Lamar Odom and cash considerations.  With this move the Lakers have officially said that this is Kobe's team.  Miami, who was the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs look like they may bring home a championship with the addition of the 7' 1" 300+ pound center.  Miami now has the most dominate big man since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a young phenomium in Dwayne Wade.  With this move could Dwayne Wade and Shaq be the next Kobe and Shaq.  Maybe better!

In other news.   Miami was not the only place cooking in the Sun shine place as Orlando makes a blockbuster trade with the Houston Rockets to get Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, and Kelvin Cato while parting with the scoring champion of the NBA the last two years Tracy McGrady, Juwan Howard, Tyronn Lue, and Reece Gaines.  This happens days after they use the number one pick to pick the high school kid Dwight Howard.  The Orlando Magic have now got a team for the future in having Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, and picking Dwight Howard.  While Yao gets a player who can score 25 points a night and he can worry about getting position.  With this trade both teams look good, while Houston might have a dynasty in the works.
